Job Description:

  • The Continuous Improvement(CI) Intern will be mentored by the CI Manager. Using a team-based enhancement approach, the CI intern will help develop sustainable improvements by identifying, executing and implementing new or improved processes within Orthman’s Frontier Agriculture Division. This is an entry level position for applicants who are seeking a career in manufacturing, process improvement and ergonomics.

  • Creates standard work instructions and process documentation for existing and proposed processes. Creates or provides visual aids as needed.
  • Identifies improvement needs for process changes, provides concepts for improved processes.
  • Analyzes current process and develops future process. Develops and executes plan to make process change.
  • Assists production floor in solving problems, especially production, fixture or drawing-related problems. Additional duties as assigned.
  • Maintains accurate project dashboard, measurements, files and records.
  • Assists in processes that improve productivity, quality and safety.
  • Participates in meetings, projects and activities in support or company and team goals.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Positive attitude
  • General knowledge of manufacturing process (helpful, but not required)
  • General knowledge of lean methodology (helpful, but not required)
