Job Description:

The Regional Territory Manager position is responsible for managing all Orthman Dealer organizations or other points of whole sale distribution in the assigned territory. The incumbent will develop an in-depth understanding of all markets in the territory that pertains to the Orthman product lines or relevant industry. The incumbent will also develop a strong working relationship with Orthman Dealers to establish a Marketing plan that will accomplish Orthman’s business goals for these product lines in this territory.

ASSIGNED TERRITORY:  Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan

  • Manage current Sales Year programing to ensure all dealers are meeting program qualifications
  • Use programing to leverage current business and develop/grow new or developing dealers.
  • Manage and keep up to date inventory tracking information.
  • Work with Sales and Order Fulfillment managers to identify and forecast demand.
  • Manage sales and marketing plans with Dealers to meet forecasts.
  • Outline and Manage Dealer Marketing activities to desired und result
  • Prepare bi-weekly team conference call territory reporting information.
  • Understand current and future product needs of the customer and communicate those needs to Orthman Product Development. This can be achieved by communicating directly with end-users, Dealers, or competitive product research.
  • Develop and maintain a significant “professional presence” throughout the entire Agricultural community, generally contributing to Orthman Manufacturing’s image as the industry’s leading manufacturer of these product lines.

  • Maintain and improve company relationships with external customers.
  • Maintain effective interpersonal working relationships with company personnel

  • Identify, Hire, Train, Retain and Evaluate dealer network in designated territory: 1) Rate and categorize dealers according to Orthman Sales Evaluation 2) Prioritize and identify dealers 3) Establish organized training with Dealer and Customers if and when applicable.
  • Keep all territory dealer business actions current including: 1) Sales Orders 2) Marketing Plans 3) Transfers 4) Accounts Receivable issues (coordinated with Accounting Department) 5) Warranty issues (coordinated with CDPS Manager)
  • Implement Sales Programs using resources of Orthman Sales Department: 1) Schedule timely “calls” on dealers by Orthman Sales 2) Develop dealer plan a. Recommend orders based on history and market demand b. Identify additional products for dealer AOR c. Layout strategic marketing plans to ensure sales goal achievement
  • Receive and handle Product and Sales calls from territory dealers and customers
  • Identify and lead strategic marketing actions: a. Product focus meetings/training b. Dealer and customer interaction c. Customer focus activities d. Farm Shows
