Colorado State University is involved with ag industry, farmers, seed companies, CSU Extension Service-Larimer Co., and USDA-NRCS to demonstrate the options of strip-till, minimum mulch till, and a conventional tillage system in furrow irrigated continuous corn. These demonstration plots under the guidance of Dr. Niel Hansen-CSU says they are open to the public to see what can and will work in order to save input costs, follow the time inputs, save energy, be compatible with furrow-gravity irrigation methods, and keep up a very profitable yield. Ted Acton, Farm and Research Director at ARDEC is happy to announce a field day to more fully explain and help others explore what all of us are studying at ARDEC. August 14th, 2009 please come by. Activities and speakers will start at 10:00am with a lunch at 12:00pm. It is well worth your time folks!
