After 3 Years Soil Quality is Showing Improvements in Central Texas

 

This long term study associated with Texas A&M University at the Stiles Farm east of Taylor, Texas is opening eyes as to how soil quality changes that we know to measure provides clues to better management and hopefully better yields. This report given at the Stiles Foundation Field Day offers folks a better idea why in heavy clayey soils the method of Strip-Till can benefit soil quality, yield, the bottom-line and time. Archie Abrameit, Farm Research Manager at Stiles is more convinced that less tillage, better and precision placement of fertilizer is a big boost for growers of cotton, grain sorghum and corn.
