We at the Orthman Farm finished getting the soybean plots and bulk beans planted for the 2011 season.
This year we are trying a few tricks to the trade to reach the goal of 100 bu/ac soybeans in the Platte River Valley with the excellent start of a proper strip-till seedbed and precision placed fertilizers. We know it has been done in the Valley in 2010 with strip-till, so we said “Why not at Orthman?”
Our first corn we planted on May 4th is coming through as are our neighbors corn. Let’s vote for a nice rain which is forcasted.
