Well I (the soils guy for Orthman Mfg.) was caught in the act attempting to capture an image similar to this one with the evening thunderheads off to the east somewhere over Hastings, Nebraska. The fields were just near perfect for strip-tilling and applying fertilizer for the 2012 season. While down on the surface I was checking moisture, temperature and if we were doing the job to meet our objectives. This process incorporates the right moves for any row crop farmer to succeed and raise a top notch crop. We will keep you informed.
